NetSmartz CharactersNetSmartz.org - State adopted program created by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in conjunction with Boys & Girls Clubs of America for helping children learn to use the internet safely as well as providing information for parents.

 

Growing with Technology - An interactive web site with activities for students kindergarten through 5th grade to introduce important aspects of computers and technology. It covers computer foundations, keyboarding, word processing, networks and the internet, creating graphics, presentation graphics (grades 1-5), spreadsheets, and databases. There is also an online glossary that brings key terms and definitions to life for students through animations and audio.

Best Books for Young Adults - The annual list of books compiled by a committee of the Young Adult Library Services ASsociation consists of fiction and nonfiction appropriate for young adults ages 12 to 18. Selected on the basis of each book's proven or potential appeal and value to young adults, the titles, published from late 1998 through 1999, span a variety of subjects as well as a broad range of reading levels.
